Review: I would recommend this book to grades five through eight because it has challenging words and an old-style of writing. I thought that this book was very interesting, this book is fun for a lot of different ages and it is a good read aloud book. I also enjoyed reading the book and I thought it was more enjoyable to read it slow so that you understand it more.
His uncle is only three because his grandparents just had a kid a few years ago so his mom now has a brother. I also do not know how old his grandparents are but it was based on a time period

At the end of the story it explains how her life was after the Holocaust and how she met up with her family and got to live with them again. The rest of the book has a lot of stories like this where they go through a lot of challenges, but in the end they survive and sometimes have happy and normal lives.
Review:This book was extremely sad and I did not like it. My least favorite part was when the kids had to watch other people in their camp be killed right in front of them. My favorite parts where when Luncia got to go back and be with her mom and dad. I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn about the holocaust or about but I would not recommend it to anyone in this school because it is a really sad book but at least it sometimes has somewhat happy endings. -Nuala

The family she was staying with did not want her except the mother so she had to live in a box when the familie was there and a family almost saw her and if they reported her to the nazis then the whole familie would be murdered.
Ummm grace it's really sad and trust me it's not that nice like it has one kid who has to dig a dich every day to put all the dead kids in the only good parts are when the stories end and the people sometimes can have normal life's and Ethen I mean you could read it but it is really sad I mean some of the stories like made me actually cry at some points.

Shortly after the president was shot due to hatred and anger which makes him a very important president to this date.
Your Review :I recommend this book to anyone who really likes Abraham Lincoln and maybe even thinks that they are your favorite president and that they have made many differences that you respect. This book goes through all of the important events of his life and highlights him as a person and all of his famous achievements. That statement is proved to be an opinion even though most people think that slavery is terrible.
I realize that but I was going off of the theme of the story which was that he was the best. Also if you had read the entire book blog it would've clarified.

Summary: This book has 12 different stories in it, each story has to do with something about war. It also has to do with how war impacts children. Just from reading the first story it made me realize how hard some kids have/had it. Like for example in the first story it talks about a family trying to survive the second day a war has been going on. In the story families from a neighborhood climbed on to a tanker to travel to safety. In another story it was just a normal day and then all of a sudden bombs start dropping and innocent people are rushing to safety. The rest of the stories all have the same theme of how war effects kids and their families.
Review: I would recommend this book to 6th grade and up because it is a challenging book. I say that it is a challenging book if you haven't learned about how wars happen. Also there were some challenging words that I didn't know. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like sad stories because some of the stories in this book are sad how some families are fighting for there lives even though they didn't do anything wrong. I personally didn't like this book that much because I would rather read one big story instead of 11 different short stories.
Summary: This a book about Harriet Tubman. Harriet was born into slavery, and when she was a child, she was very disrespectful to her master, which led to her being put out in the fields to work. Working in the field quite suited Harriet and she grew to be just as capable as any man, but one day, Harriet was helping a fellow slave escape and she was struck over the head by her master. After Harriet recovered, she still had problems. Often, Harriet would lose consciousness in her random sleeping spells, sometimes she would fake fall asleep while working and the master wouldn't even question it. One day, Harriet's master died and that was when she left. Harriet made it all the way to the north and free soil. "Let my people go" Harriet had said all her life, and finally she could do something about it. For the next many years, Harriet saved hundreds of slaves and brought them back to the north, some of which were Harriet's friends and family. When the war started up, Harriet was helping lots of injured soldiers and the homeless. For a brief amount of time she even spied on Rebel camps. Then later she died.
Review: I thought this was a good book because it was entertaining and it was informational. It was the book equivalent of Liberty Kids. My favorite parts of the book were when Harriet led slaves from their homes and to freedom. I like these parts because they were the most exciting parts and it was interesting to learn about.
This sounds like a very cool book, but I feel like you gave everything away. Like how she dies, frees lots of people, and that the war started after. I guess it still sounds really really good.

Your Review: I sort of liked the book the book because the beginning was sort of it didn't really make sense to me because i think I maybe may have read it while my "brain was not on." My favorite part was when he found fish and said: "I can't catch fish because I don't have anything to catch them with and i also don't have anything to cook them with and if I did have fire"... I may cause a forest fire, Donn thought. I would recommended this book to kids in 3rd or 4th grade and up because "little kids" wouldn't really understand the impact of getting lost.

Review- -I would recommend this book to really just anyone who kind of likes thing that are intense, or like to learn about what happened to Malala and what the doctors did, and what she went through. I also think that people who like to stand up for their rights would like this book, because Malala was being very brave by standing up on that bus that day, and having her school for girls campaign. I personally love this book, I think that Malala is one of my idols. One of the kind of intense parts would be right when she got shot. Here is the quote, “ Just after we passed the Little Giants snack factory, the road became oddly quiet and the bus slowed to a halt. I don’t remember a young man stopping us and asking the driver if this was the Khushal School bus. I don’t remember the other man jumping onto the tailboard and leaning into the back, where we were all sitting. I never heard him ask,’Who is Malala?’ And I didn’t hear the crack, crack, crack of the three bullets. The last thing I remember is thinking about my exam the next day. After that, everything went black.” ( page 130 ) I think that would be tough because you kind of get really attached to Malala after reading the whole thing before that, and then it just comes up so quickly, there’s really no way to prepare yourself.

Summary- Malala is just an ordinary girl. But one day, that all changed. Radio Mulah started taking over people's lives in Swat. They said people couldn't have televisions, so everyone threw their televisions away. They said girls couldn't go to school, do many adults pulled their kids out of school, so there were less and less kids there. But Malala's father thought, we need to make a campaign/journal to over power Radio Mulah. So, he started to ask women to do it, but they all said no. But one day Malala asked her father, father, why can't I do it? He thought long and hard about that because, he didn't want to get his little girl in trouble with the Taliban, but finally he said yes. So Malala had this campaign for girls, and she got some death threats, but she paid no mind to it. But then, one day she was riding the bus home to school when a Talib said, " Who is Malala" Then, crack, crack, crack. She got shot three time straight on the left side of her head. When she woke up, she in a hospital in Birmingham, USA. She wanted to know where her family was, she couldn't talk from the tube in her neck, she could only write. A little while later ( somewhere around a month ) she saw her family, and was happy again. She lives today in Birmingham, ( where the hospital was, ) far away from north-west Pakistan, where she got shot that day on the bus, standing up for girls rights to go to school.
Malala is very brave. I wouldn't have done that. Not that I wouldn't have wanted to, . . . I would've been too scared. She was very determined and had a lot of fidelity in herself and everyone else. Can all girls be educated now in Pakistan, thanks to Malala?

I would recommend this book to someone who likes mystery type stories with a mixture of non mystery story combined together because in this book it is a one on one mystery with Soper and Mary because Mary does not know that is has committed a crime and Sooper knows that she has with all the investigating she has done to figure it out. An example from the book is on page eighty six chapter ten ’’ On April 2, about two weeks after her arrest, Mary’s story was published in the newspaper.’’ Another example is ’’ “The best way to get rid of the (germs) is to get rid of the gallbladder,” Sper told her. “ you don’t a gallbladder any more than you need an appendix. There are many people living without them.” Page eighty three chapter nine. I liked this book because iit was sort of like a mystery but, not at the same time. My favorite part was when they went to get Mary to bring to the hospital but, Mary ran into a closet and they searched and searched for her but, it took forever to find her. Summary: Well in this book it is about a young lady whose name is Mary. Mary was a cook that worked at many different houses. One thing that she did not know was that she was spreading a very deadly disease. The disease was called Typhoid disease. After a little while of having this disease would have really bad diarrhea. Then a little after that you would start getting really bad temperatures and have a very hard time breathing. Then eventually you would die. Mary did not know that she was spreading this disease. After a little while after the family got diagnosed with this disease they would fire her because they would move out and this would happen over and over again. Then Soper found her and told her that she was spreading the disease by not washing her hands after she used the bathroom and so when she went to make the food the germs would get into it and so if you ate it you got the disease.

Ellie doesn't understand what's happening and is very confused. Soon Ellie gets a new owner named Maya. Maya loves Ellie, and is much more affectionate than Jakob ever was, not that Ellie doesn't like Jakob, . . . it's just nice to feel loved. Maya is afraid that she will not be able to make the cut and really doesn't want to disappoint Ellie but is hesitant on whether she should just back out now. There is love and loss intertwined with lots of effort and determination. It is amazing and I think that anybody will love it. Ellie is a Search and Rescue dog with lots of talent. She is taken in by Jakob, her loving companion. But as soon as Ellie feels like she truly belongs, tragedy strikes. On a search and rescue mission Jakob is shot and unable to continue to work. Ellie is devastated. She misses work and she misses Jakob even more. Will Ellie ever work again? Will her new coach, Maya, make the cut? It is very suspenseful, and that is what I like about it. I would recommend this book to Ethan because he LOVES dog books and CAN'T stop reading them. He would go through it very quickly, but it would be worth it because this is one of the best books I've ever read and I've read a lot of books, . . . like A LOT of books. I think that it was wonderful and that lots of people (not just Ethan) will love it too.
Yeah, that wasn't the only sad part in the book though. He didn't get shot in the head. He got shot in the gut and Ellie grabbed on to the bad guys arm and practically ripped it out of it's socket!
I Survived The Japanese Tsunami, 2011 By:Lauren Tarshis Spencer Gamage
There is a Earthquake in Japan in, 2011. Ben the main character is at his uncle's house and an Earthquake happened and they were under the bed and the room clasped and the cat Nya was saved just in time when the Earthquake was over there mom came and got them went to the car but before they all got in they were looked out over the water Ben thought it was a storm cloud but it was a Tsunami. They just got in the car to drive away but the Tsunami got them so Ben's uncle fell out of the car into the cold water and the car filled up with water. Was up to his chest it was filling up fast he had to break the window to get out so he did not drownd. It took a lot of force to break it he swim up and got on a bed that was floating. The cat Nya was on a bed to so ben jumped to her but they the wave started to go out to sea so they had to jump to a tree that was still up they jumped and grabbed it but ben missed the tree Nya did not, she grabbed ben and got him to get back to the tree. When all the water went down they was stuff everywhere he went up to a school where a lot of people where and he fell in the hall and a doctor got him and when he woke up he was in the gym and had food and water next to him.

I would recommend this book to 4th and 5th graders because it's shorter than some other books that I have read in the past when I found out that it was a little easy for me it was to late I was already half way through it. It is 83 pages long.
This sounds like a really good book that I think I would like to read. It sounds very interesting. So that is why you asked me to help you spell Tsunami :)

Summary: Twelve year old Astrid is going to the circus with her best friend Nicole and so during the circus the roller derby people come out and it gets Astrid on the edge of her seat. While the roller derby is going astrid gets a brochure for roller derby summer camp, and a couple days later her mom signs astrid up for the camp. So when astrid tells nicole about it nicole has news too, she signed up for dance summer camp with rachel. And over the summer that's when they split their ways.
review: I thought myself that this book was very interesting because it was all like one big adventure. My favorite part was when nicole met astrid at her first official derby, the summer was over and they were all grown up, nicole brought her flowers to congratulate her and as nicole walked away to go to her sit with her family at their seats astrid stopped her and asked her if nicole wanted to be friends with her again and a couple seconds later after gazing at each other nicole said that it would be a great idea to be friends again. What I liked the most was that it was kind of inspirational for me, My least favorite part was when astrid found out that nicole chose to go to dance camp instead of derby camp. I would recommend this book to any kid in 6th grade to 4th grade or to people that like a good adventure in a book, something that would make you smile because it made me inspired by all of the fun, the joy, and sometimes even the sad parts and it's just one big adventure for me. So I think that is awesome

Ummm grace it's really sad and trust me it's not that nice like it has one kid who has to dig a dich every day to put all the dead kids in the only good parts are when the stories end and the people sometimes can have normal life's and Ethen I mean you could read it but it is really sad I mean some of the stories like made me actually cry at some points.

Your Review :I recommend this book to anyone who really likes Abraham Lincoln and maybe even thinks that they are your favorite president and that they have made many differences that you respect. This book goes through all of the important events of his life and highlights him as a person and all of his famous achievements. He was the president during the time of the civil war of America which was a war on slavery. So if you enjoy books about people fighting for the rights of others who were less fortunate at the time I definitely recommend this excellent book to you and anyone else. I personally really like this book and would give it an 8/10

That is just an opinion because a lot of people in the south still wanted slavery so they did not like his idea of abolishing slavery. That statement is proved to be an opinion even though most people think that slavery is terrible.

Summary:
This book has 12 different stories in it, each story has to do with something about war. It also has to do with how war impacts children. Just from reading the first story it made me realize how hard some kids have/had it. Like for example in the first story it talks about a family trying to survive the second day a war has been going on. In the story families from a neighborhood climbed on to a tanker to travel to safety. In another story it was just a normal day and then all of a sudden bombs start dropping and innocent people are rushing to safety. The rest of the stories all have the same theme of how war effects kids and their families.
Review: I would recommend this book to 6th grade and up because it is a challenging book. I say that it is a challenging book if you haven't learned about how wars happen. Also there were some challenging words that I didn't know. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't like sad stories because some of the stories in this book are sad how some families are fighting for there lives even though they didn't do anything wrong. I personally didn't like this book that much because I would rather read one big story instead of 11 different short stories.

Summary: This a book about Harriet Tubman. Harriet was born into slavery, and when she was a child, she was very disrespectful to her master, which led to her being put out in the fields to work. Working in the field quite suited Harriet and she grew to be just as capable as any man, but one day, Harriet was helping a fellow slave escape and she was struck over the head by her master.
After Harriet recovered, she still had problems. Often, Harriet would lose consciousness in her random sleeping spells, sometimes she would fake fall asleep while working and the master wouldn't even question it.
One day, Harriet's master died and that was when she left. Harriet made it all the way to the north and free soil. "Let my people go" Harriet had said all her life, and finally she could do something about it.
For the next many years, Harriet saved hundreds of slaves and brought them back to the north, some of which were Harriet's friends and family. When the war started up, Harriet was helping lots of injured soldiers and the homeless. For a brief amount of time she even spied on Rebel camps. Then later she died.
Review: I thought this was a good book because it was entertaining and it was informational. It was the book equivalent of Liberty Kids. My favorite parts of the book were when Harriet led slaves from their homes and to freedom. I like these parts because they were the most exciting parts and it was interesting to learn about.

Your Review: I sort of liked the book the book because the beginning was sort of it didn't really make sense to me because i think I maybe may have read it while my "brain was not on." My favorite part was when he found fish and said: "I can't catch fish because I don't have anything to catch them with and i also don't have anything to cook them with and if I did have fire"... I may cause a forest fire, Donn thought. I would recommended this book to kids in 3rd or 4th grade and up because "little kids" wouldn't really understand the impact of getting lost.

-I would recommend this book to really just anyone who kind of likes thing that are intense, or like to learn about what happened to Malala and what the doctors did, and what she went through. I also think that people who like to stand up for their rights would like this book, because Malala was being very brave by standing up on that bus that day, and having her school for girls campaign. I personally love this book, I think that Malala is one of my idols.
One of the kind of intense parts would be right when she got shot. Here is the quote, “ Just after we passed the Little Giants snack factory, the road became oddly quiet and the bus slowed to a halt. I don’t remember a young man stopping us and asking the driver if this was the Khushal School bus. I don’t remember the other man jumping onto the tailboard and leaning into the back, where we were all sitting. I never heard him ask,’Who is Malala?’ And I didn’t hear the crack, crack, crack of the three bullets. The last thing I remember is thinking about my exam the next day. After that, everything went black.” ( page 130 )
I think that would be tough because you kind of get really attached to Malala after reading the whole thing before that, and then it just comes up so quickly, there’s really no way to prepare yourself.
Why would you just reccomend this book to just people who like intense stories?

I would recommend this to people who like puppies and dog books. So, I would recommend this to Ethan. I thought this book was funny, great, touching, and a tiny bit sad. I think people from 5-9th grade should read this, even though it isn’t that long, it is very good.

Summary-
ReplyDeleteMalala is just an ordinary girl. But one day, that all changed. Radio Mulah started taking over people's lives in Swat. They said people couldn't have televisions, so everyone threw their televisions away. They said girls couldn't go to school, do many adults pulled their kids out of school, so there were less and less kids there. But Malala's father thought, we need to make a campaign/journal to over power Radio Mulah. So, he started to ask women to do it, but they all said no. But one day Malala asked her father, father, why can't I do it?
He thought long and hard about that because, he didn't want to get his little girl in trouble with the Taliban, but finally he said yes.
So Malala had this campaign for girls, and she got some death threats, but she paid no mind to it.
But then, one day she was riding the bus home to school when a Talib said, " Who is Malala" Then, crack, crack, crack. She got shot three time straight on the left side of her head.
When she woke up, she in a hospital in Birmingham, USA. She wanted to know where her family was, she couldn't talk from the tube in her neck, she could only write.
A little while later ( somewhere around a month ) she saw her family, and was happy again. She lives today in Birmingham, ( where the hospital was, ) far away from north-west Pakistan, where she got shot that day on the bus, standing up for girls rights to go to school.

An example from the book is on page eighty six chapter ten ’’ On April 2, about two weeks after her arrest, Mary’s story was published in the newspaper.’’
Another example is ’’ “The best way to get rid of the (germs) is to get rid of the gallbladder,” Sper told her. “ you don’t a gallbladder any more than you need an appendix. There are many people living without them.”

I liked this book because iit was sort of like a mystery but, not at the same time. My favorite part was when they went to get Mary to bring to the hospital but, Mary ran into a closet and they searched and searched for her but, it took forever to find her. Then they finally found her.
Summary:
Well in this book it is about a young lady whose name is Mary. Mary was a cook that worked at many different houses. One thing that she did not know was that she was spreading a very deadly disease. The disease was called Typhoid disease. After a little while of having this disease would have really bad diarrhea. Then a little after that you would start getting really bad temperatures and have a very hard time breathing. Then eventually you would die.
Mary did not know that she was spreading this disease. After a little while after the family got diagnosed with this disease they would fire her because they would move out and this would happen over and over again. Then Soper found her and told her that she was spreading the disease by not washing her hands after she used the bathroom and so when she went to make the food the germs would get into it and so if you ate it you got the disease.
Wow! It sound like a good book, but I don't think it's for me because it sounds a little to intense. But it sounds good.

This is the capitals way of showing that there the boss.There are twelve districts.There are fences that prevent people from getting out and going into other districts. Because they weren't allowed to have any information about the other districts.
Katniss volunteers tribute and as soon as she gets to the capital she is put into training and when the time comes she gets into the chariot and is lit with fake fire and makes the best performance ever and then she's put into the games when the timer is done she runs and grabs a backpack and runs into the woods and keeps on running eventually she has to stop because she is dehydrated and she eventually finds it and after that she falls asleep.
Review: I liked the book allot and I think that it should be recommended to people in sixth grade Because it is really intense and has almost constant suspense and you don't want to stop reading. And if you don't like people killing. this book is not for you but if you like realy gory books this is a book for you.
A lot of people have read that book, but I am not one of them. But with your summary I can imagine it.

Ellie learns to find and show me. She was doing great but then her owner, Jakob, gets shot and has to discontinue his job as a Policeman to go into physical therapy. Ellie doesn't understand what's happening and is very confused.
Soon Ellie gets a new owner named Maya. Maya loves Ellie, and is much more affectionate than Jakob ever was, not that Ellie doesn't like Jakob, . . . it's just nice to feel loved. Maya is afraid that she will not be able to make the cut and really doesn't want to disappoint Ellie but is hesitant on whether she should just back out now. There is love and loss intertwined with lots of effort and determination. It is amazing and I think that anybody will love it.
Ellie is a Search and Rescue dog with lots of talent. She is taken in by Jakob, her loving companion. But as soon as Ellie feels like she truly belongs, tragedy strikes. On a search and rescue mission Jakob is shot and unable to continue to work. Ellie is devastated. She misses work and she misses Jakob even more. Will Ellie ever work again? Will her new coach, Maya, make the cut? It is very suspenseful, and that is what I like about it. I would recommend this book to Ethan because he LOVES dog books and CAN'T stop reading them. He would go through it very quickly, but it would be worth it because this is one of the best books I've ever read and I've read a lot of books, . . . like A LOT of books. I think that it was wonderful and that lots of people (not just Ethan) will love it too.

Ben the main character is at his uncle's house and an Earthquake happened and they were under the bed and the room clasped and the cat Nya was saved just in time when the Earthquake was over there mom came and got them went to the car but before they all got in they were looked out over the water Ben thought it was a storm cloud but it was a Tsunami. They just got in the car to drive away but the Tsunami got them so Ben's uncle fell out of the car into the cold water and the car filled up with water. Was up to his chest it was filling up fast he had to break the window to get out so he did not drownd. It took a lot of force to break it he swim up and got on a bed that was floating. The cat Nya was on a bed to so ben jumped to her but they the wave started to go out to sea so they had to jump to a tree that was still up they jumped and grabbed it but ben missed the tree Nya did not, she grabbed ben and got him to get back to the tree. When all the water went down they was stuff everywhere he went up to a school where a lot of people where and he fell in the hall and a doctor got him and when he woke up he was in the gym and had food and water next to him.

I would recommend this book to 4th and 5th graders because it's shorter than some other books that I have read in the past when I found out that it was a little easy for me it was to late I was already half way through it. It is 83 pages long.
I think I read this book in 3rd grade and liked it a lot. It was very interesting!

I thought myself that this book was very interesting because it was all like one big adventure. My favorite part was when nicole met astrid at her first official derby, the summer was over and they were all grown up, nicole brought her flowers to congratulate her and as nicole walked away to go to her sit with her family at their seats astrid stopped her and asked her if nicole wanted to be friends with her again and a couple seconds later after gazing at each other nicole said that it would be a great idea to be friends again. What I liked the most was that it was kind of inspirational for me, My least favorite part was when astrid found out that nicole chose to go to dance camp instead of derby camp. I would recommend this book to any kid in 6th grade to 4th grade or to people that like a good adventure in a book, something that would make you smile because it made me inspired by all of the fun, the joy, and sometimes even the sad parts and it's just one big adventure for me. So I think that is awesome
