    Review:
I liked this book, because it was the second book in the series and the first book left me hanging. I also liked it because there was a lot of suspension and I didn't know if Britta was going to survive or not. It was also good because it was funny, but sad at the same time. I didn't like it some parts because it was really intense and scary. I also didn't like it, because I don't like books with people getting injured by being shot. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes intense and suspensionly books. I would also recommend to them, because this book is really intense with all the people trying to kill Britta. Also because if they suspense really makes you want o read more and read the rest of the series you should.

  3. Fish in a Tree
    Author:Lynda Mullaly Hunt
    Pages:266
    Genre:realistic fiction
Main characters: Ally, Keisha, Albert, Mr.Daniels, Shay

    Summary
My book is about a girl who struggles in school because she has dyslexia. Many people make fun of her, but on the inside she is very kind and sweet. There is a girl named Shay who makes so much fun of Albert, Keisha, and Ally. She makes fun of Albert because he wears the same type of shirt everyday. She makes fun of Keisha because she just likes to, and she makes fun of Ally because she knows that she has some sort of disability.

Mr Daniels helps Ally to understand that she's a good person who can do great things, she just has to do some extra work. He understands that Ally has had hard times with Shay and that she needs as much support she can get. He also, at the end winds up helping Travis, her older brother, to read too. He teaches Ally to play chess, so she feels she has a fun safe place to be happy. Mr Daniels helps Ally to become who she wants to be.

I loved this book because it shows that we all have weaknesses, some peoples might be bigger than another's , but in the long run, we all feel the same things.

  5. Book Title: Wonder

    Author: R.J. Palacio

    Number of Pages: 320 pages

    Genre: Realistic Fiction

Main Characters: August (Auggie), his parents, his sister Olivia, and his friends Summer and Jack, and later on friends, Amos, Henry, and Miles.

    Setting: Manhattan, New York

    Summary:
Wonder is a book about a ten year old boy named August who has a very rare deformity that changed his face to an abnormal look. August hasn’t been to any school in his whole life. So he's been homeschooled by his mom. August then overhears his mom and dad talking about sending him to Beecher Prep Middle School, and August did not want to go, then his parents convinced him.
August met the Principal of Beecher Prep, Mr. Tushman, who August thought was a very funny name. He also got a tour of the school by three students named Jullian, Charlotte, and Jack Will.
August made friend with Jack, and a girl named Summer who stayed loyal to him all through the year. Julian started to bully August and started this whole war thing about August’ side, Julian's side and the Neutrals. With Jack and Summer’s help August pushed through the “War” and was treated like a normal Middle School kid.

    Review:
(How did you like the book, and why? What was your favorite part? What did you like the most/the least about this book? Who would you recommend it to, and why?)
I absolutely enjoyed Wonder because the overall story about a kid who has a deformity makes great friends, gets bullied, people stand up for him, then he gets treated normally in the end. The middle school struggle is my favorite part about the story and i very well understand the struggles of middle school. I would recommend this book to anyone in middle school or (5th-8th grade) because all the kids in the book have to deal with the struggles of middle school, which are: schoolwork, tests, homework, getting good grades, bullies, relationships, and sports.

  6. Auggie & Me
Summary: This book is the sequel to Wonder. This book is about a kid named August, Auggie has a birth defect and his face does not look normal. I like this book because it is like 3 different books combined. There are 3 different points of view from different people about Auggie.
Julian: Julian and Auggie go to the same school, however Julian was not the nicest person to Auggie. Julian at the beginning of the book acted like a “cool kid” but later in the book he lost most self confidence because he got bullied for bullying Auggie. Julian claimed that Auggie gave him nightmares and he could not fall asleep at night because of how Auggie looked (and that is why he bullied him). So a few weeks later Julian started slipping mean notes in Auggie's locker. The notes said like “My life would be better if you died.’’
“Why don't you kill yourself and make the world a better place?”
“Yo, Darth Hideous. You're so ugly you should wear a mask everyday!” Pg 42
I bet now Julian regrets that after what his grandmother from France told him…
Christopher: Chris/Christopher was not the nicest to Auggie in the beginning. He talked about Auggie behind his back and other things, he also helped Julian write mean notes in the beginning. Chris always had hung out with Auggie when he was little and they were best friends. Peer pressure had gotten to him, he turned his back on and that is when Auggie officially had no more friends.
Charlotte: Charlotte was nice to Auggie for the most part. At first like most people Charlotte was frankly a little scared of Auggie but after she got to know him they were pretty good friends. “A few people—like Jack and Summer and me— were nice to him from the beginning. Like when I would pass him in the hall, I’d always say, “Hey, Auggie, how’re you doing?” and stuff like that.” Pg.188
I think that the theme of the story is don't judge a book by it's cover because Auggie may look weird but he is actually really nice.

Review: I really liked this book but I do not suggest this without reading the first one (Wonder). I also suggest this book to grades 6 and up because it is kind of long and there are some difficult words.

  7. Wonder
    Author: R.J. Palacio
    Genre: Realistic fiction
Main characters: August, Olivia/Via, Summer, Jack, Justin, Miranda
    Pages: 313
    Summary
The book Wonder is a very inspiring book about a boy named August with a very messed up face from a disease called Treacher Collin Syndrome who goes to school for the first year and gets bullied. For the first few days he has no one to call a friend, but soon a girl named Summer reaches out to him and became friends while no one else wanted to get near him.
Shortly after this he starts to make more friends like Jack, Amos, and Eddie to name a few. He gained this respect after the school went on a field trip to go camping. On the last night the camp was watching a movie outside when Jack and August decided they need to use the bathroom as they were going out of the woods some kids from another school started to pick on August when Amos and his friends came out and started throwing punches after this they barely escaped and people had new found respect for August. I believe the theme is to never judge a book by it's cover, it might have a good story.

    Review
I loved this book because it is not too violent, but it also has some action scenes. One of my favorite parts was when August and Jack are about to get into a fight with some other people from another school, but then some of Jack's former friend come even though all this time they had been staying away from him because he was hanging out with August. After a fight breaks out they barely escape but August loses his hearing aids. I would suggest this book to a 5th grader and above because it’s a pretty hard book to read and very long but it is a very thrilling book.

    Title: The Girls
    Number of pages:192
    Main characters:Peggy,Mary, Sylvia
    Genre: realistic fiction

Summary: The book starts with a girl Peggy who just moved to a college in Aspen. In her dorm room there is another girl named Mary who is really rich, but really nice, unlike a lot of girls that live there. Mary and Peggy become best friends quick. Mary is in a relationship with a boy named Steffen and she is in love with him and he is in love with her.
One day, Amber the barista, was talking about gossip as she always does, while a mean girl named Sylvia overheard that Steffen had cheated on Mary with a girl named Crystal that works at Mod Jeans. Unfortunately Peggy heard and she had no idea what to with this major information. Eventually Mary found up but not from Peggy which almost destroyed their relationship. Mary was about to forgive Steffen but he told her that Crystal was pregnant! If you want to find out what happens too everyone's relationships then you should read this book. I think the theme of the book is that you should be honest and you shouldn't cheat or lie even if it's to get something you really want.

    1. Review: The book The Girls was good book, it was interesting and intriguing. The book was a little inappropriate but not to bad. I would recommend to 6th grade girls and up or anyone who is interested. The book is easy to read and has a lot of drama. I didn't like how Steffen didn't get punished very badly for what he did. I did like that main character, Peggy was a really good cook and made it so it didn't seem like all year the girls had nothing better to do then gossip all day.

    Summary
In the book I'm reading it is called superfugue and there's this kid named Peter and his brother fugue. They are going to Princeton for their dad's job for a year. Ther Peter finds a friend named Alex which is cool because I'm Alex to. In Princeton alex and peter work for a worm business and they have to get worms and sell them to a old lady. And what I think is so cute is that fudge got a bird and his name uncle feather.

    Review
I would recommend this to Aidan, because he would love to read a 166 pages without pictures. I like this book because it has a lot of dialogue. My favorite part is when Peter and Alex are selling worms to this old lady and they think of what the old lady does with the worms. My least favorite part is the beginning it has not much of anything. My favorite quote is (they have a one bedroom apartment)

At the end Greg and Marla like to make comics books, Greg wanted to sell them to make some money but Marla did not want to sell them. Greg had a little trouble about selling comic books, so Greg, Marla, and Mr. Z went to the meeting and waited until they said about comic books so he made his move and Marla did too. They sat and talked. At the end they got permission so they can sell comics book and more. They got over $900.

    Review:

I like the book because it's funny, and Greg has some money in the bank, and the author did a good job in the book. I think that the author should put more actions like when they were waiting for until it was it’s turn to speak. I recommend this book to Tyler because he likes money and likes to get in trouble. “Yes my nose is bloody, very bloody. It's bleeding, and blood is getting all over the place-bloody, bloody, blood,” (p.86). I like it because it's like a rap song to me. I learn that to be nice to girls.

  18. The Rifle
    Author: Gary Paulsen
    Number of pages: 105
    Characters: Harv

    Review

The Rifle was about this guy that built a gun and this other guy have tried copying and it did not work. After a while Harv got a team of people so that he could figure out how to make the gun. He figured it out and then Harv made a lot of those guns and they went in the war and it was one of the top guns in the war.

    Q#4
The author gets our attention by telling us the authors names and what they are going to do in the story. In the beginning of the story this guy is trying to make a gun and and it is a black pouder and eventually he makes the gun and then he makes a lot more of them. Then this guy tries to copy him and he does and he makes like 300of them for the war and he makes a lot of money and the guy that had the blue prints didn't make any money so it is not really far to the guy that makes the blue prints.
    Q#5

The ending of the story is about a guy that copies Harv and then sells a lot of the guns to the war and made a lot of money. Then a lot of people got killed by that gun the guns are really nice. Harv was mad that some guy copied his gun that he made in the first place so then that guy that made a lot of money from the guns took that money and made like two guns with the price if one gun. Then there isthmus guy that is in war and he was doing really good with that gun. Harv thought that he was doing good he had made like 10 guns it the time that other guy made like 200 the guy that made 10 guns thought that he was doing really good and he thought nobody else was making those guns. Then he left us hanging because the guy in the army might have got shot or he might not have. I was happy with the ending but I was left hanging.

    Q#7

I recommend this book to Hunter because he likes this author and he also likes guns. I would also recommend this book to 5-6 because it is like 105 pages and it is not to long it does not take that long to read I read it in like a week and I am a slow reader so it is definitely no to long or to short. I would also recommend this book to Brett because he does not like to read long books and he goes hunting and so does Hunter that is why I would recommend this book the Hunter. Brett likes hunting and he also likes guns because every time I go over to his house he is always showing me different guns.

    Summery
This book was pretty good and was about this guy that is making a gun and this other guy is copying and that is not very nice. It also was about this guy that was going hunting with that type of gun and he does not shoot anything because he did not see any thing. He had his kid with him when he went hunting.

    Author: Laura ingalls wilder

    Number of pages: 339

    Genre: realistic fiction

Main characters: Laura, Mary, and Ma.

    Setting: the 1800, novaskosia.

This book is about a young girl who is forced to move away from a prairie. She moves to a dugout and gets some cows and horses. The girl's name is Laura. She is 8 years old. She moves to a little house, and goes to town. Back then town was like going to Disneyland. She went to school and she stood up to a bully. Her dad just went away for work. The reason is because thousands of grasshoppers ate all of their wheat and grass, so the cows and horses could not eat, and they could not eat ether. But then the rain came, And it was cool. And the cows could eat, and they could eat.

I loved this book. It had so much meaning, and it just reminded me that there was a time when they did not have cars, or tvs, or even super stores. It made me feel so lucky when I started to read this book. When I thought that not having a tv was bad, and I read this book, it made me feel lucky to have one. I recommend this book to some random person who just is looking for a good book. It is calm, yet makes you want to jump out of your seat!

  22. Little Town on the Prairie
    Author: Laura Ingalls Wilder
    Number of Pages: 307
    Genre: Realistic Fiction
    Main Characters: Laura
    Setting: Dakota The 1800’s
    By: Gavin T. White

In the Book Little Town on the Prairie
Laura wants to get a Teacher Certificate so she can teach school. But she's not old enough to be a teacher. You need to be at least 16 years old
and Laura's only 14 years old.
On Laura's first day of school she sees Nellie Oleson. The mean, rotten girl from Plum Creek. Nellie always talks to the new teacher during recess.
The new teacher's name is Ms.Wilder.
Her real name she hates and never speaks about. But she told Nellie and Nellie told Mary Power, Ida, and Laura.
Her real name is Eliza Jane. The girls thought it's a nice name, then Nellie told them in New York State when Ms. Wilder was little a dirty little girl came and sat next to her. And Ms.Wilder had no choice to move. And she ended up with lice in her hair. Everyone called her “Lazy, Lousy, Lizzy Jane.
Ms. Wilder does not like Laura and Carrie and they don't know why. Laura and Carrie got expelled from school because Laura stuck up for Carrie.
In school Laura is one of the best spellers because she was third to last in the literaries at the schoolhouse one night. For example the last word that Laura couldn't spell was xanthophyll. No one could spell except for Pa. Pa and Mr. Foster were last. Then Pa beat Mr. Foster. I think Little Townon the Prairie is a great book to read and I hope you read it too. One of the themes in Little Town on the Prairie is that school is tough. But kind beats mean. Laura believes that being kind is always the right thing to do.

    Review:
Q1: How did you like the book, and why? I liked the book a lot because it takes place in the olden days and I like the olden days because they're different from nowadays and that they rode horses instead of cars, trains, airplanes, etc.
Q2: What was your favorite part?
My favorite part was when Ms.Wilder sent home Laura and Carrie because I think it showed more how Ms. Wilder hates Laura and Carrie.
Q3: What did you like the most/least
about the book? I liked that they added a teacher who doesn't like Laura and Carrie. The thing I disliked about the story is when Nellie told Ida, Laura, and Mary Power Ms. Wilders secret.
Q4: Who would you recommend the book to, and Why? I would recommend the book to people who likes books about the 1800’s because they could learn something new about the past.

    Pages- 343.
    Maine character- Suzy,Justin,Franny,mom,dad,
    Author- Ali Benjamin.
    Genre- realistic fiction.
    Setting- south grove,Massachusetts.

Summary~ Suzy is the main character. Suzy is Franny's best friend until middle school. Franny becomes popular and Suzy is left alone. Franny goes on vacation and drowns. Suzy thinks that a irukandji jellyfish killers her. So Suzy must find out. The one bad thing is that he lives in Australia. Her and her dad go to a Chinese restaurant every Friday and every Friday she copies down her dad's credit card to buy a ticket to Australia. She purchases a ticket packs her bag then she goes to the airport hoping that her parent will get her home because it's a one way ticket. But a lady at the desk at the airport stops her. She is too young to fly to Australia alone. All her hard work is ruined. Her dreams crushed. Suzy realized that she should not be trying to figure this out. It was about a year ago and she realized that no one cares and she can't do anything about it. She gets a call when she gets home. “Hey is Suzy home?” Says Justin. 20 minutes later Suzy is walking into the villains or heroes dance. Franny old friend walks over to her they walk in together.

Recommendation~ I thought this book was really good and very descriptive. I would recommend this book to any girl in 5-6 grade. The only thing is that it left me wondering is that what actually killed Franny because they did not actually say what actually happened to her. I would like Ali Benjamin to make a second book about this so it says what happens to Suzy also. Other than that is it very good book.

  25. Title:Little Women

    Pages: 376
    Author: Louisa May Alcott
    Main Characters: Meg,Beth,Jo,Amy
    Genre: Realistic Fiction
Setting: Summary: Meg is sixteen , Jo is fifteen, Beth is thirteen, and Amy is the youngest. They are very poor and try to make the best out of it. Meg is married and has 2 kids. Amy has gone on a trip to Nice.Jo writes little stories to raise money for the family. Beth likes to stay at home with her mother.

Meg has neglected her husband, John, and starts to feel lonely because John goes over to a friends house every evening. She does not know how to fix things until she has a talk with her mother about it. She then repairs the relationship by talking to John, which makes him feel better, and ends up talking about going out to a play together.

Laurence comes to visit Amy. She thinks he is great and a real gentleman! But the day before he leaves she takes everything back. She and her friend Flo think he is very lazy. They called him “ Lazy Laurence”. She talks to him and makes him feel waves of anger, sadness, and happiness. Then he leaves and she is happy but also very sad. She had said to herself when she found his note, “ Good boy! I’m glad he’s gone.” But then to herself again, “ I am going to miss him.” She does feel sad but she feels happy about the way she talked to him and what she said.

Review: I liked this book a lot. This had a lot of excitement. It also gave alternating times from Meg , John, and Demi to Amy then to Jo and Beth. That’s what I like to see in books. My favorite part in this book is when Demi is naughty and just won't go to bed. What I liked most about this book is that there is a lot of excitement and tension in this story. I recommend this to any fifth grade or sixth grade girl who likes art or continuous activity. I will tell you why. It’s because this book focuses a lot on Jo and Amy. If you like art then I think you would like Amy. She loves art. and had made a whole bunch of art for a craft table she was running but the daughter of the manager of the fair had talk with her mother and became jealous of her and her mother made her switch tables with Amy. If you like climbing trees and playing in the the woods I think you would like Jo. She is a tomboy and likes to always be doing something. She loves to read. She also writes some stories that get her 50-100 dollars a piece

Review
How did you like the book, and why? What was your favorite part? What did you like the most/the least about this book? Who would you recommend it to, and why?
I liked this book because it is about animals and I like horses a lot. .My favorite part of the book was when Luke goes and see’s Lady's colt near the end of the book and it scratches it’s butt on the post of it’s stable. This reminds Luke of Beauty and the owner lets him take the colt home. The colt looks like Beauty and he promises to take really good care of it.
What I liked the most about this book is that it has so many different feelings in it like some parts it is sad then some parts are happy.
What I liked least about this book is that Beauty dies at the end. It was sad when she died and it had a sad ending instead of a happy one.
As I said, I would recommend this book to Trinity because she likes horses and this book is all about a boy and his horse. That horse is his best friend.

  28. Book Title: Sunny Side Up
Author: Jennifer L. Holm & Matthew Holm
    Number of Pages: 216
    Genre: realistic fiction
Main Characters: Sunny, Grandpa (Pat), Dale, Buzz
    Setting: Pennsylvania, Florida

Summary: The theme of the story is that you never know what's coming next and don't know who has secrets and who doesn't. I Can tell because her grandfather has a secret that he is keeping from her and her parents have secrets that they are keeping from her and also she didn't know that she was going to stay in Florida for so long Sunny didn't know that she was going to be staying in an old people home instead of a Disney world resort. Here are some examples from the book “I can't do this any more I can't pretend I don't see things” -Sunny this is important because she spoke these words to her grandfather and he didn't know that she was keeping secrets he didn't know that was coming up next. “it's just I don't want to keep anymore secrets.” -Sunny, even she was keeping a secret from herself she was trying to hide what she knew.

Review: I would recommend this book to sixth through seventh grade or to any person that likes a book with a lot of suspense. I liked this book because I really wanted to find out all of the secrets and find out what she would think of Florida. I think that my favorite part about this book is when there was random super hero ads from comic books pop up in the beggining of the chapters. What I liked the most about this book is that you never know what's coming up next and there is nothing that I didn't like about the book.

    Review
I liked this book because it is about a dog.I also like it because it is about the K-9 services and saving people like finding them and then saving them. I recommend this book to fifth graders that love puppies because it is about puppies,it is loving, heart warming, and is from a dogs perspective a.k.a Ellie. This book is good for people who like books that go from happy to sad to happy again. One example from the book is when jacob and Ellie are having so much fun working together and then Jacob got shot and then Maya was nice and took care of Ellie and did work with her.Ellie's Story is an inspiring tale for young animal lovers. For my example from the book is on page 169 when it a little boy is lost in the poring rain and you can feel the fear in him.
